Mental Health Awareness Week is a reminder that behind every farm, every business, every early start and late finish, there’s a person who matters.

Agriculture can be incredibly rewarding—but it can also be isolating, stressful, and at times overwhelming. Long hours, financial pressure, weather, livestock, family responsibilities, and the constant weight of “keeping going” can take their toll.

This week, let’s help break the stigma around mental health in farming. Check in on your neighbours, your friends, your family, your colleagues—and be honest about how you’re doing too. A simple conversation can make a real difference.

And remember, support is there if you need it:
🌱 FCN (Farming Community Network) – practical and emotional support for farming families
🚜 RABI – health, wellbeing and financial support for farming people
💚 Samaritans – available 24/7 if you need someone to listen

Brilliant day on Monday at the Women in Farming Wellbeing Day hosted by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society 🌸

It was such a welcome opportunity to step away from the day-to-day, take a pause, and connect with so many inspiring, like-minded women. ☕

A huge thank you to Heather Copley, Kate Bush, Angela Kirkwood, Debbie Airey, and Philippa Gray, who shared their personal stories so openly. Hearing about their resilience, experiences, and the ways they’ve navigated challenging times was incredibly powerful and inspiring. ✨

From pilates and a woodland walk to finishing the day with a fantastic session from the Field Nurse team, it was a truly uplifting and worthwhile experience. Feeling grateful to have been part of it.
